Dental implants
A tooth is made up of a crown (the visible part) and a root, anchored in the bone. When a tooth is missing, the implant replaces that root: it is placed in the jawbone, then acts as a support for a crown, a bridge or a denture.
Over time, the bone bonds with the implant, which allows it to stay in place.
Extractions
The practice carries out extractions when a tooth cannot be saved or needs to be removed. This may be the case, for example, with :
-
a very badly damaged tooth that can no longer be repaired ;
-
an infected tooth that cannot be saved with treatment ;
-
a tooth affected by advanced gum disease ;
-
a tooth that is causing problems, or that needs to be removed as part of another treatment.
